"We have found the perfect retreat in England".  Middlewich, United Kingdom.  5 out of 5 stars, Feb 2011, Trip Type: Leisure

"The house was amazing, our room was exceptionally comfortable and spacious, the staff were lovely - couldn't do enough for us. Our meals were the best we have had in England for a long time, the chef went out of his way to ensure that my dietary needs were met - which was very much appreciated. The grounds of the hotel were lovely - carpeted in the biggest show of snowdrops I have every seen. The chickens that run around outside are friendly and very amusing!!! especially if you give them some birdseed! We could not fault this hotel and will definately return for another weekend retreat.

Eshott Hall, 5 of 5 stars, Sep 9, 2010  Trip type: Family

"Dan and Louise are the warmest and most generous of hosts, it feels like you are staying with dear old friends, they and their super staff are low key and laid back in the best way but still attend to every little detail. The house is exquisite, the grounds delightful, the food wonderful and the rooms sumptuous. The surrounding countryside is stunning and there's so much to do and see. "

“Wonderful Stay in a Fabulous Location”

Eshott Hall, 5 of 5 stars, Jul 30, 2010 Trip type: Couples

Have just returned from just under a week at Eshott Hall and Self Catering cottages staying in one of their converted stable cottages - and we wish it could have been longer! Eshott Hall is now under new management (Spring 2010) and is a perfect place to stay. Our hosts Lou and Dan couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The hall itself itself is fabulous set in lovely grounds and has been renovated to a very high standard, mixing modern touches with heritage Georgian pieces (as befits the age of the Hall) perfectly.

The cottage was lovely, had everything we needed and again beautifully appointed. Location wise, again, just right, leaving guests in easy striking distance of the coast, the hills, the local attractions and the city of Newcastle. We booked for an evening meal in the Hall during our stay and they have a wonderful chef so definitely recommend that. We're already planning our next stay!
